The 38-year-old striker, who has been a mainstay at the King Power Stadium for over a decade, confirmed he will be leaving this summer, but is not yet ready to hang up his boots. Vardy joined Leicester from Fleetwood Town in 2012 and went on to become the club’s most iconic figure, playing a vital role in its transformation from Championship regulars to Premier League champions. Over 13 seasons, Vardy accumulated an impressive 496 appearances for Leicester, scoring goals that have become etched in Premier League folklore. His 24-goal campaign in the 2015/16 season powered Leicester to their miraculous league title win under Claudio Ranieri—an achievement considered one of the greatest sporting underdog stories of all time.
He didn’t stop there. Vardy helped Leicester claim the FA Cup in 2021 under Brendan Rodgers and contributed significantly to other memorable moments, including the club's incredible escape from relegation in 2015 with Nigel Pearson and their run to the Champions League quarter-finals in 2017 under Craig Shakespeare.

In his farewell statement, Vardy reflected on his journey with gratitude and sorrow.
"I've had 13 unbelievable years at this club with lots of success, some downs but a majority, all highs, but it's finally time to call it a day, which I'm devastated about but I think the timing is right," said Vardy.
"I just want to sincerely thank you all for taking me in as one of your own. Leicester will always, always have a massive place in my heart and I'll make sure that I will be following for the years to come and what I hope will be even more successful for the club. But as for now, this is my goodbye but you will see me again soon, I promise. Thank you."

As Vardy exits the King Power, speculation over his next destination has already begun. A growing number of football fans have called for Wrexham, the Welsh club owned by Hollywood duo Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney, to bring the former England international on board.
