Mike Vimpany18-Jul-2001Two of Hampshire’s most promising young cricketers – David Griffiths and Mark Mitchell – have been picked to play for England Under-15s at Eton College.The two all-rounders, who come from the Isle of Wight, will make their international debuts in separate 50-over and 3-day matches against Denmark and Ireland.They will link up with the England squad for 14 days, immediately after next week’s ESCA Bunbury Under-15 Festival at Winchester College.Griffiths, who plays for Shanklin, and Mitchell, the highly rated Ventnor batsman and left-arm spin bowler, will play for the West alongside four of their Hampshire team-mates in the ESCA Divisional tournament, which begins on Monday.Locks Heath’s Alex Richardson captains the West side, which also includes Flamingos opener Kevin Latouf, Andover’s James Manning and Hampshire Under-15 captain Chris Martin.
