Galatasaray are working on a deal to bring Calhanoglu to Istanbul, but reports the Turkish giants are offering half of what the Italian side want to part ways with the Turkish playmaker. Reportedly, Inter want €40 million (£34m/$46m) for the 31-year-old midfielder, but Gala are looking more towards a deal which reflects the player's age, as they don't wish to pay more than €15m (£13m/$17m) for the former Leverkusen player. The huge difference in the transfer fees is something that the clubs have to work on. As per sources, a deal around the €25m–30m mark (£21m-£26m/$29m–$35m) can be reached and would be suitable for both parties.

The Turkish midfielder was a little irked when Gala decided to give the number 10 shirt to Leroy Sane. The Champions League runner-up was under the impression that Gala would hold the jersey number for him while the player and club representatives worked on the deal that would land him at Rams Park.

Galatasaray's head of transfers, Abdullah Kavukcu, is determined to bring some big names to Istanbul this summer. The plan started with the free transfer of Sane from Bayern Munich, and reports say there are also positive talks between Manchester City and the club for their winger, Bernardo Silva. With one year left on the player's contract, the Portuguese could be on his way out of the Etihad.
